Recently, QAS had the opportunity to help one of its customers with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). The PPAP process is used to demonstrate that the supplier’s manufacturing process achieves engineering design and product specifications. PPAP is used in the automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, and electronic industries. Customers will often require their suppliers to PPAP the parts that they provide, this is known as a “flow down” requirement.

QAS’s customer was required to submit PPAPs for several parts that had recently undergone a 5-year review by its customer. QAS provided total PPAP consulting support for the project, from PPAP planning all the way to PPAP submission on the customer’s portal. Collaboration between QAS and its customer resulted in the PPAPs being submitted ahead of the due date and all PPAPs were accepted with the first submission.
